About Our Pearls

Where do your pearls come from?
All CAO JEWELRY pearls are sourced directly from trusted farms in Japan (Akoya), French Polynesia (Tahitian), and Indonesia (South Sea). We work directly with farms to ensure exceptional quality and ethical sourcing.

Are your pearls real?
Yes, 100%. All our pearls are genuine cultured pearls — not imitation or synthetic. A simple test: real pearls feel slightly gritty when rubbed against your tooth; imitation pearls feel smooth.

What is the difference between Akoya, Tahitian, and South Sea pearls?
Akoya pearls (Japan) are known for their classic white color and mirror-like luster. Tahitian pearls (French Polynesia) are naturally dark with peacock and green overtones. Do your pieces come with a certificate?
Yes! Many of our fine jewelry pieces include an IGL (International Gemological Laboratories) appraisal certificate, confirming the authenticity and estimated retail value of your piece.

Orders & Shipping

How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Delivery times vary by location — typically 3–7 business days within Canada, and 7–14 business days internationally.

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes! We offer free shipping on orders over $150 CAD within Canada and the US.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide via Canada Post. International shipping rates and times vary by destination.

Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number via email.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for items that are unused, unworn, and in original condition with all packaging. Visit our Return Policy page for full details.

Can I exchange an item?
We replace items that are defective or damaged upon arrival. Please contact us at hello@caojewelry.com within 14 days of delivery.

Are custom orders returnable?
No — custom and personalized orders are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.

Care & Maintenance

How do I care for my pearl jewelry?
Always put pearl jewelry on last when getting ready, and take it off first. Wipe with a soft damp cloth after wearing and store separately from other jewelry. Avoid perfume, chemicals, and extreme heat. Visit our Pearl Care Guide for full instructions.

Can I wear my pearls in the shower or swimming?
No — prolonged exposure to water can weaken the silk thread and loosen settings. Always remove pearl jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising.
